About Us
If walls can talk, why not gates, lampposts, train terminals and street signs? With her upcoming wedding date playing in her head, our newly engaged co-founder recalls that she saw numbers EVERYWHERE during a foreign study tour of Eastern Europe. What began as a quest, to find and photograph numbers that would celebrate a special day in her life, soon became an obsession. “ Intentional or not, there is real artistry in the way fonts play against backgrounds,” she notes. “ Once you develop an awareness, you realize that numbers have personalities and importance. They are one of the most enduring elements in any human landscape.”Born out of this experience, the venture that became frame the [date] is a loving collaboration by two sisters. All photography is original and shot in environment; frames are handmade from wood that is harvested using good timber practices; mats are hand cut from acid-free, high rag content stock. A diverse inventory of number styles, from rustic to urban to traditional, give you scope to create a commemorative piece that is, we hope, as personally significant as the piece that inspired the company.
